If you are new to 3D pro­to­typ­ing (as we were up to this project) we sug­gest read­ing the one page arti­cles from IEEE spectrum:

It will prob­a­bly give you some more con­fi­dence in send­ing away the cas­ing for print­ing or installing some soft­ware to mod­ify the casing.
