To repro­duce the sys­tem the micro­con­trollers need to be pro­grammed. For this a num­ber of soft­ware need to be installed and pre­com­piled code down­loaded or the code itself fol­lowed by compilation.

There is many dif­fer­ent options of what soft­wares to use when it comes to com­pil­ing the code for the micro­con­troller. We have been using the Atmel AVR Stu­dio 5. For the pro­gram­ming of the micro­con­troller we have been using older com­mand line tools which are read­ily avail­able. In addi­tion to these soft­wares some dri­vers for the com­mu­ni­ca­tion with the micro­con­troller are needed.
